Registration and Activation

Lucid Builder Registration and Activation

In order to increase security and provide users with a more complete service, we have changed the way in which this development tool is registered. In order for you to have full functionality of Lucid, you must complete the activation process.

How to activate Lucid

You should note that the registration and activation process registers the Lucid product to you and to the machine you complete this process on.

Step 1 – Installing Lucid

When you open the Lucid Builder, you will be given the option to register the software now or later.

If you choose to register later, you can use the Lucid Builder in Demonstration Mode only. In this mode certain features of the Builder (e.g Save, Save As and Export) will be disabled if the key exceeds 50 features and 15 entities.

If you choose to register now, please note that you must be able to connect to the Internet and have a valid email account in order to complete the registration process.

Step 2 – Registering your copy

To register Lucid, click I will register button. You will be asked to enter your name, a valid email address (these details must be the same as those used when ordering Lucid), along with your the serial number.

Step 3 – Activating

Once you have entered the required registration details, if there is an Internet connection present the Lucid Builder will attempt to activate the licence over the network.

If the activation fails due to licensing or input errors, a message will be displayed describing the error and the Lucid Builder will enter demonstration mode. You can try the activation process again by restarting the Builder.

If the activation fails due to network connection or another unforeseen error the activation process can be completed manually.

Activation notes for system administrators

To make the activation process more flexible for computers that are centrally administered and have restricted privileges for non-administrators, the default location for storing the activation files is the user’s default home folder, where a ‘.lucid’ folder will be created.

For example:

In the Windows 10 operating system, the activation files will be stored at:

If desired, registration and activation files can also be placed into the Lucid installation folder. This will allow more than one user to use Lucid on the same computer. Alternatively, you may copy the ‘.lucid’ folder into other users’ home folders.
